First, we delve into a Mad Tea Party! Except there isn't any tea to be had here at all! Instead, the Hatter and Hare are making candles out of their teacups! What utter nonsense! They've arranged an array aromatic oils, all inspired by Alice's Adventures! How very quaint! Perhaps, NOT the stupidest tea party you'll have ever been to after all!

Then, as we abandon the teacup candles to set, we journey through the magic door to The Queen of Heart's Rose-painting Soiree! Here the only way is the Queen's way, but it seems today her way is to make a bouquet! She's sent all four suits out to gather all the roses and procured a plethora of glass containers, but roses have yet to be painted and the vessels are of all shapes and colors. I simply can't fathom how she deals with those cards! At least, we get to keep our curious creations!

We just had our biggest Valentine’s Day ever. Over 64 candles poured in a single day!

Nearly every workshop hour was full and the wax was flowing. Seeing so many couples, friends, and families choose to celebrate with us means more than we can say.

Y’all showed up in a big way! Thank you for making this our busiest Valentine’s yet. We’re still riding the high (and cleaning a little wax and rubbing our sore soles.)

This morning during breakfast, I heard the sound of birds heralding the dawn—the first I’ve heard them in months. Could they be heralding spring, too?

Surely, it’s too soon yet, but one can hope.

It reminded me to begin planning which fragrances to stock in The Chandler’s Fragrance Lounge for the next season.

What spring fragrances are your favorites? Which ones would you be most excited to see back in stock? Which fragrances are you hoping we carry someday?

What do you do to combat the winter blues?

For me, it starts with light. I keep my curtains and blinds open in the middle of the day to pull as much natural daylight into the house as I can. And although it might sound a little silly, I sing or dance while doing chores. My go-to singalongs are either jazz classics nostalgic songs from old childhood musicals. As for dancing, I’m not ashamed to admit I rotate between bossa nova, disco essentials, and early-2000s pop, depending on how much energy my body needs to expel.

When night falls, though, I lean fully into coziness rituals. Little things that quietly tell my body, 'you don’t get to do this in the summer.' It's anticipation is the secret key to dopamine. I gather cozy clothes I’ve been waiting all year to wear. I look forward to soup season and try the new recipes I've been saving to keep things feeling novel. And when it snows, I make a tea or toddy and sit in my favorite chair, watching flakes fall through the streetlights, still glowing that sulfuric amber they had in my childhood.

And of course, as you can imagine, I light a few candles too.
